Great weekend, although it rained a lot. We're in the rainy season down here, essentially "winter". I think it got down to 75 degrees on Friday night. (Trust me, I'm not complaining!) Come November it will be 88 and sunny for at least 3 months straight. Nothing majorly new to report, so I thought I'd take this moment to list some of my new favoritos en Nicaragua! Here goes:
Tres Leche Cake (OMG! This cake truly melts in your mouth.)
Chayolte (A green vegetable that resembles a green pepper, but almost has a sweet taste to it.)
Papaya (Yummy mild fruit.)
Arroz con Pollo (Chicken & rice Latin style.)
(Funny how everything so far is food!!! I guess it's just my inner fat girl speaking up. Those of you who know me have met her many times!)
Waking up at 7am and not feeling like it's too early.
Not having a cell phone attached to my ear at all times.
Seeing Ryder and River squeal over the monkeys.
Butterflies! They come in all colors and sizes down here.
Something other than pine trees lining the streets.
Not wearing one stitch of make up for the past 3 weeks.
Eating all organic, healthy food. Nothing processed! (Although I did have a hamburgeso con queso with fries for dinner at the clubhouse tonight! Shhhh!)
Appreciating what we've left behind!
Of course there are many, many more things I love about our new homeland, but these are just a few for now! No pics tonight of these great things, but I promise they will come soon!
Buenos Noches!
